My Shadow

I feel like my shadow
Lifeless and plain
No purpose in life
Except to be a follower
No matter if I like or
Don't like the person
I will have to be
With that person all my life.

Can you imagine
Stuck behind someone for all eternity
"Always second best"
Trailing behind them like
Some little puppy dog
Well I'm no puppy dog
But I still can't help but feel like my shadow
Created and stuck behind someone else's light.
