REPLACEMENT CHILD {I am Vincent number two}
Vincent's mother had a son before he was born,His name was also Vincent. He was stillborn.
It is thought that Vincent's unstable mind was in part caused by being a replacement child for his mother.
Never feeling as if he was supposed to have been born, Vincent had no real grasp on who he was to become. If his brother would have lived...
Would Vincent have been born and who would he have been?
REPLACEMENT CHILD

Brought into this world in the shadow
Of death
Mother still mourning
An infant
Left
From the womb
No life
Vincent one
Her first son
Had
No
Breath
Now Vincent two
Would take his place
To lie in the arms that first cradled loss
And wear
a bereaved
babies
gown
of
lace
Never knowing a mindful peace
Replacment child
In lost babies bed sleeps
If mothers first son would have lived
What would have become
Of the man now missed
