Caramel Apples~ Fall Delights

Apples crisp and tart
Covered in caramel cream
Rolled in nuts aplenty
Gee, I have a need for many
But while my tongue says, yes
My mind says no, no, no
I must listen to the brain
And let the craving go
For if I eat the apples
And if I eat caramel
I will lick the nuts from my fingers
Making sure the bowl's clean as well
Now I love the fruit of fall
And I love the sweets, that's true
But if I follow my desires
I'll have more girth than a gnu
For I know the shape of the apple
And I know what's in my head
I will stay away from the apple
And eat the caramel instead.

What a delightful poem......the temptation of the sweet wrapped the fruit of the good. Reminds me of a piece I wrote long ago:

I have become addicted.
Yes, like I was hooked on crack.
To a drug sold at the check out
In a little yellow pack.
Inside is my new heaven
Those orbs, to me, are gems.
Hard candy choclate covered
Peanut M&M's.

Too cute!! I like um too. Remember when we had candy apples and the coating was red? I loved those. Did you make some of these or are you going to? I'm going away for a week but if you happen to make them around Oct. 4, thats when I'll be back.
