nemesis with silver eyes
another candle whispered, (white-hotfire
i will give you
endless desire)
i dipped my heart in wax
it
hissed
and left a mark
aching and strong
like glittering stars
my tears fell upon the pale
surface of the moon
vivid
within my skin
i ate the fruit
shaped like
an obsidian plum
i pressed my mouth to the sky
hoping it would divide
and wrap me inside
the eyes of Nemesis
the goddess-daughter
calculating and
cold
she snaps her wrists
and assails me with
lashes
laced with pain and
solace
