I - LEAVING HOME
O' the hours are long
And the sky's tears fall
Mirroring the ones on your face
As you leave your heart buried
In the face of your beloved
[You shan't see them again]
The love for your country is high
And it has called for you
To do your duty
[You shan't see it's shores again]
This burden has been place
On your shoulders and you will
Wear it with pride even after
You are gone
II - HELL IS HERE
(THE HEAVENS THEMSELVES SHALL KNOW TEARS)
This is war... You left your soul
Long ago... You no longer know
Her face... It's haunting you
Fear no longer exists
On this most hallowed ground
Your sacrifice is...
III - ODE TO ANGELS/WELCOME TO THE GATE
O' Where do you go now
O' Life has slipped away
Take them into your arms
Their duty is done
Honour them above all others
Those who shan't return
Remember what they died for
(We shall take you)
(A new life has begun)
(Come to our arms)
(Lay down your burden)
(Hope will be returned)
(Hope will return)
(You shall meet again)
IV - RETURN
The heroes' caskets
Draped with flags
Know they were brave
Know you may be proud
(You will meet again)
V - LAMENT OF MAN
So many are gone
So much sorrow remains
We sing of lament
We beg of mercy for
Our sons and daughters
For our brothers and fathers
For our sisters and mothers
That they return home safe
And if they shan't return
Grant them your embrace
That they didn't die in vain
Grant them the peace
They have so rightfully earned
(Hold your weary heads high)
(You will meet again)
Grant them the honour
To be remembered after we are but
Ashes and Dust
Ashes to ashes, Dust to dust
(Remember them)
(For you will meet again)
(This burden is not yours alone)
(You will meet again)
