life-long friend & sister
kerry amanda girard

k.a.g.

it's hard to write about someone
you've only known for short amount of time,
but it's also hard writing about someone
you've known for what feels like forever.

sixth grade: business class.
we laugh all the time about how ridiculous we were:
with our walla walla stories, obsessions with flamingos
and our crazy, yet legendary, oreo project.

we talk about all the fun times we've had:
crazy nights downtown, icing-filled sleepovers
you failing at ice skating;
me failing at knowing every john mayer song.
but even though we had those differences,
we were inseparable.

after our first few fights,
i realized that i'd never get rid of you.
every time we fought, we couldn't stay mad
because we had a secret
or a story to share.
i mean, after all, sisters fight.

we go to separate high schools now,
but it honestly feels like i see you every day.
i tell you about my extreme adventures,
and countless interesting stories.
and i love hearing about every little detail of your day,
and what your plans are for the weekend
and how excited you are for potential events coming up.
you seem happy, and i hope you are.
you deserve all the happiness and love in the world.

we've grown extremely close
and i wouldn't have asked for it any other way.
you're the sweetest, loving, thoughtful,
and most gorgeous girl i've ever met.
and honestly one of the best things
that has ever happened to me
and i'm truly, truly grateful you're in my life.
i love you, my darling.
