The message
A chord is struck in me
of a most personal resounding touch
as if your poems only spoke to me
in unheard of and unequalled intimacy
that must leave me thunderstruck
by the sheer might and force and power
of your softest tenderness.
How can I answer but with prayers
of profoundest thankfulness
for this impressing confidence?
Be calm, my heart,
our secret is quite safe within us,
since I never can betray you,
sealed with silence as I am
by voluntary faithfulness.
