I knew I'd never know that warm and loving glow
Though I might wish with all my might;
No face as hideous as my face
Was ever meant for Heaven's light
- The Hunchback of Notre Dame

(Messy and disjointed, I know...sorry about that...)

Tracing Spirals

sometimes i daydream about
tracing the spirals on
your shadowy cheek
with one unholy finger;

that cannot be
for you are not mine

heaven does not smile down on us

god smiles down on you alone
and your lovely delicate
vulnerable friend

i know you will be hers
as surely as i know i will never be so
lovely or delicate or vulnerable
as she is

a new cherry blossom
barely opened and beautiful

not so am i
i have been crushed by the seasons
worn and washed out, my former
pale pink glow faded to
bleached white in the merciless sun

i am just a wilted flower and you want an intact blossom
just a few pathetic petals when you yearn
for a gorgeous bloom

so go now
leave me alone

alone with my heartache

and just let me sometimes daydream
about purity and wholeness
about beauty and happiness and
tracing loving spirals
across your angelic face

sweet sorrow....
I seem to say that too much to get that idea across
I need a new way to say that
however, this was very touching
like Morgan said: very moving

No words can
Together to say those
Resplendant (usage? sp?) images
Evoked here by your will.

Do you know just how
Awesome you are?
Me'thinks that you are
Exceptional beyond your own knowledge.

Notre Dame! =D
excellent write
(I actually think the disjointedness adds to the effect--it makes it seem more like a string of thoughts)

Your first staza grabbed my attention, and the rest... it felt like you read my mind. I loved this... well done.

Morgan Cellohead
I however, do fail... at writing anything whatsoever. Let me try that again: It seems you never fail to create something deeply moving whenever your write. I'm honored to know a poet of your caliber.
