repost of a poem I wrote 3 years ago under the name pj. My grandson Mac was 20 months old at the time.

Mac's Happy Day In The Sun

A dirty little hand reached up
and tugged my finger hard
A cherubic face with Bahama blue eyes
said, "play inna back 'ard"

He pulled and tugged me along
until his goal was met
He had his Mammy where he wanted
in the sprinkler, getting wet

The water made his blonde curls bounce
as he spun round and round
His chubby little limbs went wild
until he tumbled to the ground

Up he jumped and spun again
catching my hand on the run
He wanted Mammy to join the frolicking
of Mac's happy day in the sun.
