In the 16th century they introduced Cricket
Along with bats, balls and even some Wickets
Why it's lasted so long, no one knows but the Brits
Compared to Baseball, Cricket's the pits

That is the view of most all of us Yankees
Who the Brits are certain are just baseball crankys
For believing crickets so boring
As they go crickety snoring

No one would dream of sipping tea
While watching baseball, we'd all agree
The excitement of sipping tea is the norm
While cricket players attempt to perform

Let's hear it for the British so 16th century minded
Who when it comes to baseball are so 16th century blinded

I am amused...mildly...but as a cricket fan I would merely ask - what other game do you know where you can pop to the loo, have a cup of tea and a cake, snooze for an hour or two and still not miss any of the action?
You see, you jolly old Americans have missed the point. You don't go to the cricket to see a match, gentlemanly fun though it might be, - you go to the cricket for a relaxing afternoon and to be lulled to sleep by the occasional thwack of bat on ball.

HA!HA! Actually I loved your poem which really gets to the nitty-gritty of the difference!

Oh, I am indeed rolling on the floor in fits of laughter after reading this(which was after reading the other one following this)! GOOD GOOD STUFF!

Ah well the Ashes are ours, but the poetry is definitely yours.I must admit I'm partial to a bit of crickety snoring myself!
