This is the second of a series of four seasons poems.

Summer.

I always love the summertime
Barbecues and drinking wine
Shades of green that alternate
Like a salad on a plate
Country walks in shady places
Seaside fun and happy faces

Animals in county shows
Rabbits, Ferrets, snakes and toads
Dogs that do all sorts of tricks
Running, jumping, catching sticks
Horses prancing in arena
With spanish ladies, like ballerinas

Wandering down beside the lake
Feeding ducks with bread and cake
Children screaming with delight
As swans swim by, and geese take flight
Along the bank in summer heat
Grow buttercups and meadow sweet

Long light evenings that last for hours
Spent with friends amongst the flowers
Beautiful colours and sweet perfume
The patio another room
Things seem easy, life is fine
I always love the summertime.

Zoya Zaidi
Trees are green and flowers grow,
Long walks with friends, not foes,
Springs come alive & waters flow,
Days are long and slow to go,
Nights are warms and fragrent sweet,
Lots of fruits and vegetables to eat,
Summer time is oh! so sweet!

Another perfect piece, we are soul sisters (or is it brother and sister, can't tell by your nome de plume!), I am also a great lover of nature!

Welcome again to the bay!
