Rumbling Red

tepid clouds

rumbling red

hugged the horizon

before us

as we watched

the winds wane

and the day dim dead

I stared at the moon

in your eyes

preening on purple

star speckled space

knowing I'd regret

tepid rumbling red

lips scortching face

The imagery is outstanding. So few words, such a big poem at heart. Thanks for sharing, and keep writing.

Regards,
John.
