" Book Of Life "
Our life is divided into seasons
one chapter of time if you will
some chapters written with reasons
with others to be quiet and still.
The first chapter of childhood was learning
all the things we never outgrow
to laugh, to sing and yearning
to crawl, to walk and to grow.
Then comes the chapter of teen years
the years for some full of fright
most succeed and conquer their fears
these should be the years of delight.
Another chapter we all start our families
build a home into our castle for life
we fill it to the brim with our values
and settle down with minimal strife.
Now the end is near in your book
as you look back at time now past
no regrets on the actions you took
a good person is the shadow you cast.
You are given the wings of an angel
as your chapter of time floats away
leaving behind your love and footsteps
on earth where you were yesterday.
Many say you lived with honor and love
by always doing the best that you could
your Book Of Life is with God above
to show you lived life and did good...
