A Baby And A Boy

A baby found by a reckless boy
On the dirty streets
At the dead of night
Unwanted just as much as the wild child

The boy slowly walks over
With his knees bent defencively
The baby cries
And the boy understands
And rushes over
The boy understands the longing in the cry
And picks up the baby

The boy doesn't understand how
Someone could
Abandon something
So beautiful
And incredibly innocent and pure
Everything he is not

And with a sudden pang of pain
The boy realize the baby will have a life like him
With pain and suffering

The boy looks in the baby's eyes
And falls in love
Before that moment, the boy had considered
Ending this pitiful, defenceless thing
But fooled by his innocence and purity of his heart
He takes the baby

Three months later
A well dressed sophisticated boy
Buy's a newspaper
And on the front page reads the headline
"Criminal of 13 kidnaps baby"
Disgusted of this boy
That is the same age as him
Reads on
"Boy dies of starvation
And the baby is found safely and
returned to his parents"

The boy is happy with this ending
And is disgusted and hateful towards the boy
But happy that the parents have their baby
