Streets Of Sadness.

Through the streets of sadness
Now vailed in mists of sorrow
Where hope is but an effigy
Of what may come tomorrow

Grime encrusted faces streaked
By tears that have no feeling
Their bodies and their senses numbed
In a place devoid of healing

Revenge and hate now fill the air
Amid the screams for dead and dying
Burning rubber dust and smoke
Caress a child no longer smiling

The bomb is indiscriminate
Of the lives it tears apart
Blind to the chaos that ensues
Or the anarchy it starts.

Rik The PoetBay support member heart!
How senseless it all is and how brilliantly conveyed. The atrocities people are prepared to inflict just to uphold their right to be right.

Zoya Zaidi
Bombs can never solve a problem,
I wish they knew who, indulge
In protests with bombs, loot, and arson!
The aftermath is without a hope,
For those who are left without a foot,
A hand or just devoid of legs altogether,
A child with tears dried on his face,
Shows how misery has thought him
To forget to cry, how scare has left him,
With just a gaping mouth, without a cry...!
