Pain of Evening



In the pain of evening
When I became aware
Of the shroud of loneliness
A pair of birds in love
Flew over me in joy
Giving me a sweet breath
And the fragrance of desire
To be with a beloved; I sighed.
Cold air and grey sky above me
I felt a void deeper than the valleys
In the pain of a lonely evening
I waited for the beloved; I retired!
