Winter in the Keys

The days are getting shorter. They're closing up the pool.
There's football on the TV. The kids are back in school.
A frosty autumn morning is a sight to behold.
I'm heading to the Keys before it gets too cold.

I want to stretch out in a hammock
Underneath the banyan tree
Have a cold drink in my hand
And enjoy the ocean breeze.
There's something to be said
For taking life with ease
There's nothing like winter in the Keys.

I'm going to catch my dinner. Snapper grilled just fine.
Fresh salad from the garden and a little wine.
I'll take a sunset stroll in the clean white sand.
Won't you join me darling? Come and take my hand.

I want to stretch out in a hammock
Underneath the banyan tree
Have a cold drink in my hand
And enjoy the ocean breeze.
There's something to be said
For taking life with ease
There's nothing like winter in the Keys.

The sun rises in the east. It sets off to the west.
This simple island living is the best of the best.
It helps me to relax, keeps sanity in reach.
I'd love to spend my life with you here on the beach.

I want to stretch out in a hammock
Underneath the banyan tree
Have a cold drink in my hand
And enjoy the ocean breeze.
There's something to be said
For taking life with ease
There's nothing like winter in the Keys.

I hate to intrude, but can I come too?
