Burlesque

Some insist the world of burlesque
Is demeaning and often grotesque
They stubbornly refuse to assess as art
Watching clothes from one's body depart

But more than barely, it's creatively uncanny
Their use of a small fan to hide a large fanny
There's nothing at all I'd deem as perverse-al
Attending one of their un-dress rehearsals

Miss Rose Lee, with first name of Gypsy
Artfully kept the boys lusty and tipsy
Let's not forget infamous Sally Rand
Whose titillating acts were not at all bland

Remember vivacious Roxie Hart
Bumping and grinding away at her art
Our society's damning of arty nude-ity
Stems from our hypocritical puritanical prude-ity

There seems to be a Burlesque revival at the moment. Clever line "attending one of their un-dress rehearsals." Your humour excels as does Dons graphic, still smiling :)
