A tribute to Debbie's father. RIP. - 3rd December 2010.

Meadows of barley.

Keep the last kiss forever,
Keep it in your mind,
For another time.

Lock away those words,
As you will speak them,
Again and again.

Trying to be different,
Watch the sun setting,
By the sea front.

Please don't envy those tears,
It's a little harder,
When you're near.

Tell them to walk away,
They'll go and follow
Those meadows of barley.

"I told you everything will be OK,
And I'll keep my promise.
Reborn like a woodland glade,
Trees will never vanish."

Who we keep in our heart is never truly gone. Very moving tribute to someone who was obviously very much loved.

Wow, catchy... the title entranced me... maybe because I like meadows and like barley even better. The poem itself is a fitting tribute, gives a feel of ashes being cast into the four winds and promises and love extending beyond the grave. My sympathies to all concerned.
