Based on the life of girls in India.

It's a "so-called" man's world we call home!

Since the day we girls learn how to walk, we are also taught that it's a big world out there and there's a big bad wolf at every nook and corner just waiting to pounce on you. And from then on, we are taught how to protect ourselves because no modern prince charming would risk getting into a fight for you.
Well how many times has it been when a guy who obviously has a brain the size of a walnut speeds up on his bike stops close to you and yells, "Hey baby!" and starts wiggling his eyebrows like the evil villain from Dracula! Well since I'm addressing this question to the girls....I'd bet this happens on a daily basis.
But the worst part is that we girls get the blame! "They should have a better dressing sense", they say! But really! How much more can we cover up on a salwar suit? In an article written by Charulata Venkateshwaran in 'The Hindu', she quotes "The prejudice that women face is still present. Only it has learnt to hide itself better."
Giving this a thought, well, I guess women hold about 2% blame in all this. If mothers of the present day world quit believing the notion that "Boys will be Boys", and start training their pampered pooches on how to behave with women, then maybe we'd have a less amount of rowdy-sheeters in the making.
And the rest of the blame goes to the patriarchal society which views a women as a commodity rather than as a human being. We are miles away from changing those views so the only thing we girls can do to survive is to keep our heads head high and walk away from those ugly faces (and keep a can of pepper spray in our purses).
