Funny how in the past, the cards hadn't yet been dealt -- then in the future, your cards are on the table. I was 15 when I wrote this. - 26th April 2011.

Cards.

An inordinate pubfight,
Secret assailance brought to me,
Potential individual
Of a stronger personality.

Return please,
Satiric nature lay beneath me,
Reconsider,
and tease my open mind.

Future promise,
Silver sons too radiant to see,
The want to dominate,
Prison life with inconstancy.

Endangered expectations
With agate encrusted cards,
Like music, a tapestry,
The unformed side.

I love the way this flows. The imagery is strong and the rhyme doesn't feel forced. This is a nice piece.

Sometimes we are already imprisoned even before the jail doors slam shut on us, our true freedom grows from within.

And from 15 you have gone from strength to strength with your wonderful poetry, some great phrases here,"to tease my open mind" being just one.

Life deals a hand of cards too us rather offtan , during our life. Some times good some times not so good. Reminds of when I plaide poker with some mates. I had no idear of what I had. So I keep bad hands and through good hands away. One , lost won asgaine , so it went on. Till the night endid . So confoust wass the lad's. They gave up , and we never plauyed with me againe . Only had a school when I was defernetly not going to come a long again!
You showed such promise , John , a promice granted too too us. Thank you forte all your good poems . We all lookforward to more to come.
