Sometimes it happens when you try and remember a person who you've known almost all your life but haven't met in a few years; you try to gather up an image of how that person looks like but all you get is a blurred memory.

Fading

Fading,
Right in front of me into thin air,
My hands passing through you,
Yet never catching hold of anything,
Your face as I remember it,
From my soul do I recall,
Breaking down into vapour,
And disappearing once and for all.

In about 8 lines you've managed to convey beautifully what it feels like.. It's not an easy task especially when the emotions are so big.. this is fabulous..

John Ashleigh
You pull inspiration from a memory. A sentiment that other people long to be able to write about. It is often difficult writing about something so close to your heart, but yet so far in the distance. A true poet indeed.

Regards,
John.
