His father inlaw speaks

VICTIM OF MARRIAGE 5

Beign my only child
I worked hard to train her
With all I had and earned
She lacked nothing
Everything was at her disposal

Now that I am old and retired
Now that she is married
And I should be enjoying my youthful labour
Nothing comes from her

Not because she never wanted to do
Or because she has forgotten her reponsibility
But because she married the wrong man

I suffered to bring her up
And I suffer on still

This poem is topical and burning, because nowadays children, as they grow up, forget about their aged parents and leave them. Great job!

Oh no! Another victim...
Another raw and honest piece. While I do not relate to the emotional suffering you describe so well, my own physical suffering enables sympathy. I sighed my way through this one.
I wish you well.
