Morning Moon

Grumpily awakening early
As I must before your lover appears
To shift his heavy slabs that show
Off his abs to some perfection...
Some liquids I might beckon for a
Coffee cup fill me less to abjection.

I grin at every intersection knowing
You do not understand yet
Alone is in the mind.
And understanding that is
Your platform.

Feeling hot I splosh my feet
In your pool...
He is beautiful half naked...
You will never hold the whole
Of him you know...not firmly.

This sky you have above your house
Is ever so beguiling...
Is full of moons and stars and meanwhiles.
Are you sure that you can live with that
When he is gone?
Is he not just a young replacement?

Look at the moon fade to the sun.
No matter how you may wish it
To be so and so
Some loves have many sweet
Sweet corrections.

I have leaded-glass in my front door. When I look through it, I see what's outside, but I see it as a collection of little separate images. This poem has that same effect. I like it.
