for brussels and idiots

Floating

You are the worst of my lovers.
You drew me in with seductive
Promises swearing I would be rich
With a mere consort and no reporting.

At best before me I see wringing
Hands with no aim beyond this deal.
You... you cannot love or care for any one.
We are all mere chattels to some dream
Even you have not a measure of now.

The worst of you refuses to let us
Tarry to other ways as I used to.
As I was used to..when
I imagined the world was real...
I am going to watch the pink
Blossoms as they float slowly away.
Float slowly far away.

Sid Gardner
We all fantasize at times.Whether we recognise what is reality or wish depends on our experience in loving. Perhaps our expectations are coloured by a single ephemeral moment which catches our breath. Just like a dream that lingers long after the cloak of night and darkness has opened to the day.It is not necessary to consider the depth of that moment but to keep it and savour its essence before it melts in the palm of our hand as a single snowflake.

Nice one Jenks....

It's worse for our generation. Young people won't even know what they're missing, we do. It's like waking from a pleasant dream to a dreary day.

Of course, if you were seduced by a lover promising and swearing riches, well Jenks, you were, in the parlance of our generation: an easy lay. Duped, and not just duped by anyone, but by the WORST.

You weren't alone.

Winter has set in, maybe an ice age. It's hard to say when more blossoms will appear.

Hi Jenks

It's a good and sad poem....You once imagined he world was real...the problem may be that, yes, the world is real, but the reality is not what you wanted or expected...

I enjoyed reading this one
