Fitting In?

Just above thinking

is a state of mind

that wants

to feel the missing,

browsing the wrong life

sits an impostor

tangible, but aloof,

meant to be elsewhere.

Commentally Ill
reminds me of the puzzle piece who trimmed himself (a little off the top) to fit into a puzzle. he didn't match, and sooner or later, along came a piece who did. so then he found another puzzle which had an almost perfect spot for him, and he shaved a bit off his side so he could fit. when the right piece came along, he had to move, and so things went for him for a long, long, long, long time. naturally, when the right puzzle came along, he no longer fit, because he'd taken so much of himself off in the process of trying to fit with other puzzles.

moral of the story? pay attention. while you were reading that nonsense, i stole your drink and ate half your dinner as well.

I know all to well just what it is to be. The sense of not belonging , a misfit. Of not being '' one of us '' that is '' one of them''.
