you depress me
i understand you

i have
been you
tendons tensing
spirit smarting
almost wincing
with each

you depress me
i am still you

after you move on

deep thinking in this...

You have such a gift for writing simple, perfect little poems.

For those people, I try my best to move on and not let them have any dominion over me. Easier said than done, I know.

I can't say a lot more about this one except ... what was that expression you and your sister used to say? Damn boy hell ... or something like that? :) So good (stating the obvious here) and for me it was hard-hitting when I got to the conclusion.

A very astute observation in this poem. Whether it be a parent or a lover or husband, I can see how that would happen.
Deep thinking.
