Up Yonder

Up yonder the gulls ease into the troubled winds
A wondrous swoop of curves and loops they form-
Beyond ballet- how they must feel as they dive and rise!

Down here in this world of so many angles
I let my mind hide in some quiet corner
Tethered still and praying for some angel
(Not some benevolent devil) to stop these
Chinless wonders in their handmade shoes
Stomping on my sensibilities
Over and and over and over.

Nowadays there seem so many things
We cannot rise above.
So I set my eyes up yonder.

Sad that we all encounter this.

What i would not give to soar above.

Great piece.

You dont look at the chinless before doing an analysis of their eyes. There is some current politicians (one in particular) whose eyes are so close together thet they double cross at the front and meet up at the back..... Who was it that said 'The mere wish to become a politician should debar you from office'....How can you soar like an eagle when surrouded by sh**ehawks......

No packdrill/??

Hope your' well
Sid.

I think you speak for the many Linda. And you speak very well for the many. The chinless wonders are also gutless backstabbers, but we needn't worry about rising above them. It is just their diabolical dees...
Lovely writing. Thank you.

No one else can take the daily news and turn it into such wonderful, wispy poetry.

Good to read you again Linda, I'm off seagulls at present after one swooped down and stole my salad - but I know this feeling very well

For centuries, earthly ills prompted people to imagine that perfection ruled in the heavens... Enjoyed the write, Linda!
