If my love life had a title it would be "50 Shades of NOPE!"
Call it a mid-life crisis, but I don't mind it at all.

Pre-Loved

Please don't think me callous
If I fail to swoon or relate...
Romantic poems leave me cold
My baggage long left behind
No bitterness, no regrets

Quite simply....

Relationships now look to me
Like second-hand shops
Jazzed up old buildings,
Full of other people's stuff
I do not need...

I can relate completely to your words here, even if I've been known to throw in a love poem or two. Hopefully not too syrupy as I also tire of those. I love the title which tends to show that you know a bit about the reality of love. Excellent write.

Satisfying poetic summation of your current outlook. An outlook not to far from my own at present, though I still find a good old-fashioned, syrupy romantic poem quite a treat every now and then (though, I take my rose-colored glasses off when I read them now).

I always enjoy your work. Keep it coming.
