sing along evening

sing along evening
fled with empty wallet
inventing all kinds of noise
in justification
to its arbitrary conduct

a ragged beggar's wind
causes cities to set sail
where spare change
rolls like lost wheels
at the end of another day

there is no purpose
to a homeless city drift
no significance to be found
under concrete bridges
no point to expect

misery rolls dark streets
shifting dissonance
dumpster dives
beneath a surf light
we all pay for

A bleak picture painted with great metaphors. Good writing.
