A little something to think about...

Procrastination

If you put off thinking 'bout something
'Cause you figure it can wait,
You place yourself in grave danger
Of thinking too little, too late.

Thanks for these comments. I've been locked out of my office a few days--lest you think I have been procrastinating!

:-,?

Purple Phoenix
The title alone grabbed me, (a long-time sufferer of such a thing!) and the poem did not disappoint. Well put! ;)

If you put off thinking 'bout something
Because it fills you with dread,
You're apt to find yourself wounded,
Possibly even dead.

Well I love head-scratchers. What I have discovered though is that it is that kind of thinking that increases the anxiety levels hence making the person in question even more unable to get things done

"If you put off thinking 'bout something"
that means that you need to think something through
"'Cause you figure it can wait,"
Not because you figured it can wait but
because you need more time Why?
"You place yourself in grave danger"
Which self? Because it is not reaching the destination that matters but who you became during the journey
"Of thinking too little, too late."
Even if you eventually get something done You will do it as a procrastinator and next time you will do as you know and try to fight your nature(the nature of the procrastinator)instead of taking a deep breath remembering the small adjustments you made last time in order to achieve your goal and feeling stronger than last time

This time you are someone else test to see if you are able to get things done this time. Just like that you are someone that wants to do something

Now . . . if it is about a situation that is doomed from the beginning and as Paulo Coelho describes it:
'The only way to beat temptation is to give in to it'

Get it over with and then .stop. experience who you have become(don't pick a word from the dictionary) and take it as it comes

A procrastinator is jailed in a dictionary . . .

Depends on what you're thinking about, I'd say, but as a general rule, I think you're right.
