so many days of reckoning

so many days of reckoning
stagnates in vain
fed by the end like ferrets
at the periphery of a lost world

days in tidal rash hurt
beat their pale signals
in the aftermath
of one blinking eye

it is the I and the loneliness
we glimpse when light
flickers on the surface
of yet another day

A mournful sort of poem it seems to me, but eloquent in the beauty of its writing and choice of words. Beautiful writing.
