A little love poem. -3rd October 2014.

Wallflower.

Wallflower;
Accept my hand and walk with me
With your warming smile;
Please don't let me drift in the dark
Without your beating heart
And your promised word.

Wallflower;
Dance with me in this lake of dreams
With your gentle invocation;
Please don't let me drift in the dark
Without your blue eyes
And your timeless love.

Love it!

Besides the perfect flow and perfect choice of words, this poem has a tender and so soft feel to it. I love the feeling after reading it.

I concur with Elle that this poem is nicely constructed and flows smoothly and gently. A wallflower is traditionally a term for someone (often female) who is reticent and shy, unable to project herself into her surroundings. This poem sort of turns that idea around and it's the speaker of the poem who wants recognition and attention from the wallflower.
