If you ever do come back

You may look into to my eyes,
Claim that you can see into my soul,
For want and nothing more,
Your words mere words now,
Float around us like ghouls,
They are dead,
There was never any life,
No emotion behind them,
You may feed me more words,
Maybe woo me in another life,
But now with a heart as hard as mine,
With no gap left for it to crack,
Your words hold no meaning for me at all,
So look the other way love,
And walk away with your pride intact.

I feel a deep pain behind these words. Strong and powerful but full of pain. Good poem.
