Skies, Skype, you and I

Too much

If a sigh is a sign of relief
then I shall be cured and well
but I ache
for every sigh that I make
seeing you in front of me
miles and miles
away

So I sigh at the feel
of your vibrations
mounting on the screen
touching every atom that is me;
but what if I could touch you
not just see
but what a sight to see
you are indeed

Heaven is as far away from me
as you are
still I know that's where I'm going

This is a truly beautiful poem, Ivan. It makes me sigh just to read it too. It's difficult to love from a distance. *

The subtle word play (sigh/sign) plus all the references to seeing and sight make this a very good read. It's sometimes disconcerting, if not discouraging, when you can see and hear someone you care about on a blinking screen, but the other senses, taste, smell, and especially touch are missing.

Enjoyed very much.
