The Pope Must Hear This...

In the deepened heart of the Vatican
lay him with her

On the red carpets and rugs, lay them
pounding on each other

Even when the tower bells tolled
they kept banging and banging

And now, his cassock has been stained
with the blood of a virgin

He has been seen by a Church Warden
and everything has changed

:) Maybe that's why all cardinals have red cassocks...
As a recovering ex-catholic, I can only say that I appreciated this one a lot!

Lourdes
Perfect sentence setting and the story unfolding so red and lush, with the short Hemingway-like senyences.
Your work stands out Onyeka. I believe my grandchildren will know thy name.
