After reading "Kissing Midnight" by Maca. I found myself recalling a poem I had written a few years ago that seemed fitting as a companion piece. I'm posting it here again to honor Maca's work. with apologies for a repost.

I Would Kiss You

I would kiss you as stars touch light to light
as waves share a soft drench night
as snows touch pine boughs
as night winds touch long grass
as twilight sounds touch a whisper
as you touch me.... fleetingly
as my lips touch yours in shadows

I had never read this one before and had no idea you had such a romantic side, although I should have guessed reading your poems of the ocean and the boat. This is a Joseph I didn't know. :) Beautiful poem!

Such transcendent tenderness . . . what a love poem should be.

Very beautiful. Well crafted and brief. Almost Shakespearean in construction and flow. I think I'll call you The Bard now.
