Memory by the sea

On the waterfront

Sitting at the water's edge
it's low tide now
water glistens
seagulls screaming
but nobody hears
silence

Heavy waves roll into
surf boom
foam dizzy
a furious cascade
washes over the beach
raining on my ankle
/Maria

It's true, from my experience at least, which you explain so beautifully here; memories may be powerfully visual but rarely have sound. They are in my case at least, silent. Well written, Maria.
