Johnny Be Good, Please

Introducing Johnny

Johnny is adorable, small

For his age, which is twelve,

And cute as a bug with

His blonde hair falling over

His forehead, gracing

His innocent blue eyes,

Long lashes, and ready smile.

So cute. I have a wonderful photo

Of him and Joanne sitting

Side by side, outside on a

Picnic table on a beautiful day,

Matching expressions, both smiling,

Both with middle fingers extended.

Johnny will get off this ward.

He is too clever by half.

He will go far. His charm, his wits,

His gray matter, his looks, will make it so.

He will seduce his way to success,

And we will look back and say,

I knew Johnny when he was just

A fresh-faced boy on ward twenty-four.

For now, he owns the place.

It is his personal fiefdom, and we,

All of us, on both sides

Of the glass, are his minions.
