KOKO AND HER FRIEND BALL OF FUR

Koko is a gorilla - giant of her kind
Her best friend was a kitten -
Named - Ball - a ball of fur
Koko could talk by signing - understood broken English
Ball - strold in Koko's place one day unseen by her human ape's
When they came in to check on Koko - they were taken back - in shock
To find Koko cuddling a little kitten
Koko told her humams '' this is my friend Ball - like a ball of fur ''
Soon Koko and Ball Of Fur soon - were like old friends - playing games - Koko , cared Ball everywhere
Gave Ball toys , feed Ball and everything you do for a dear friend

Then one sad day - Ball - got out - out to the road - just has a truck was passing
Sadly Ball was killed - under the wheel of the truck
The humans had to brake the news to koko - expland why koko's friend was gone
That Ball was dead
Koko - shocked as you can may imagine - went quiet - sullen - in to a state of mourning

Her humans - left Koko - just not knowing what they should do
The situation - totally know - one thing supporting - helping fellow humans to cope With a sudden death
Just how dos a Gorilla - react - cope with the death of a loved one?
When the humans went back to check on Koko - they heard her crying - weeping
Gorillas - as ape like as humans - react just the same - just needed to be alone

The humans decided to give Koko a surprise
They gave Koko a cardboard box - Koko opened up the box to find two Kittens
The healing proses had began

What a wonderful story Ken. And told so well. When you look into the eyes of our close cousins you realize that they are indeed sentient and behavior like this proves the point :)

I too know the story, there's something strangely comforting in knowing we are't the only species with emotions, nicely told Ken in your own way.

What a beautiful story! We are learning so much about how similar animal behavior is among all of us. :)
