head of this family, and mom,

the de facto leader, and my brother,

my hero for his graciousness,

which leaves me, and enough 

has been said about me—this is 

my family, born of man and woman, 

begotten and misbegotten,

tidying our corner of the world, 

causing no more harm than most, 

and working hard in the process. 

our family of man is flawed, 

blessedly so, but utterly without 

dreams of world domination, 

devoid of judgment of fellow man, 

the good kind, and charitable

when fiscally possible. we are a small piece

in the big picture, a gene

in the genome of the family of man.
