Why cook dinner when the kids are at their Dad's?

Rummmmm

I tried to fool myself tonight
I thought that peanut butter and jelly
Was enough for dinner
Yeah, I can eat that and be fine
But then I felt like something was missing
And spied the rum on the counter
Yeah, rum, that's the ticket
So I had a little rum
Just a little
Then I started to get hungry
Pictures on the internet showed all kinds of good food
It's too late to cook
So I found some nice cheddar in the fridge
The kind from the co-op that's made with raw milk
Man it's good
I think I'll have some more
The rummmm is making me warmmmm...
I'm all alone at home
Letme have some more cheddarrrrr...
I'
m so alone here...
Nobody to call...
need a man...
V
oops

best have more rummmmm.

Rum and cheddar sounds like a good substitute. You might end up singing sea shanties :)

Amazing how a little rum can be catalyst for springboarding to fantasies, food, and other passions. Great write, Nancy!

This did make me smile - I think at some point, many of us have been there :-)

in the cold light of a november morning, that is to say tomorrow, you may wonder just where the cheddar went, and wasn't that bottle nearly full, and . . .

this is in the moment, and perfect.
