Rumbling
The world keeps rumblingeven when our breaths
no longer mingle
and planets can
never be aligned
without you beside me
frissons of fingertips
tingling beneath the stars
and shooting glances
beneath a fringe
that tangles up and sways
in the ways that you
will ever be and more,
a score of ways
as heartbeats tumble
roaring in our ears.
Nothing can be the same,
above below
or skating on the surface
when deep, so deep inside
I glide into an embrace
and words are honey
and intent a disgrace
of you and I
and I and you
and us and all between
and so far aways,
I love you in the
fundamental way
where words are scant
and bereft
I stretch between the empty space
of us and you and I
and all that lies and
sighs our songs,
so long to meet and kiss and part,
the world still rumbles
on and on and on.
