Silence Impertinent


You've chastised me, despised me
Thrown me down an early grave
Lumped upon me sodden soil
Taken all the love I gave

Hemlock, Nightshade, Henbane, Wolfsbane
Set their roots deep in your earth
Fed you poison that you vomit,
Fertilized your evil birth

Laughing at my wilful struggle
Sneering at my hopeless regrets
You've hooked my flesh with cruel, cold iron
And made me dance like marionettes

With charitable silence impertinent

I feel the taint seep through your skin
I feel the stain weep through my veins
I feel the crissXcross of the rust
The lock of heavy, icy chains

I taste the toxic smog that you breathed into my lungs
I taste the lethal spit that you drooled into my jaws
I taste the bile, the lethal vile you put into my mind
I struggle hard against the Bonds that strangle, slave and bind

You're all a horrid memory yet still you cause me hell!
I fear I'm breaking down, I hear the tolling of my bell
