Over Thinking?

Is she in love,
Or only in love
With the idea
Of being in love?

She overthinks things.

"Son, you overthink things,"
His dad always said.
So he thought that over.

He overthinks things.

She overthinks things.
He overthinks things.

They overthink things.

But do they, really?

They are thinking that over

Together.

Sometimes I want to be over, thinking, can never quite do it though ;-) I'm on the same page as Lawrence, love the father and son stanza.

The revision makes this read a lot more smoothly, and brings out how funny it is. The tripping, repetitive pace is such a brilliant contrast to the rambling, internal, grandiose process of "overthinking." I think that is what makes it so damn funny. I think. Or not. What do you think?

One can never over think that kind of situation too much.:)
Funny thing in a that regardless of how much it is overyhought, love wins in the end, because we all know that thinking doesn't help.

Very amusing, Rob. I laughed out loud when I got to

"Son, you overthink things,"
His dad always said.
So he thought that over.

I am so over that. Thinking I mean. But am I, really? I am glad you have someone with whom to engage in this spiraling, never-ending, aimless activity with. That makes it a far more engaging and thought-provoking hobby.
