Mirror Eyes

Headstones protruding
From Frost crept grass
The frosty air
Nips at our cheeks and
Blankets our limbs.
As we round the corner
You grab my arm "I'm not telling people yet
Only you... I just wanted to say
The IVF worked"
All around us
Sun dusted ice particles.
Oooooh - I grab you, hug you
Puffy winter coat bundle hugs
Puffy winter coat bundle
Hearts transcending Nylon and
The biting wind
Meeting softly
I feel you. I didn't know you were trying
But I feel you now
My eyes feel wet
And the blue of your eyes:
Clear like the sky
And the blue of your eyes
Wet from the well.

Kathy Lockhart
Poet, I keep reading this. I am apart of it now. That well keeps me coming back for more.

Uplifting poem, a warm and beautiful moment that the cold of winter could not chill. gsv
