Guys Like Me

Some guys are handy, they can fix most anything.
Some guys are wealthy, wearing diamond rings.
Some guys are funny and make you laugh until you pee.
Then, there are guys like me.

We ain't nothin' special.
We're made of flesh and bone.
We spend our time on this earth,
Then one day we're gone.
No one writes about us.
We're too numerous to see.
Anonymously we live our lives
These simple guys like me.

Some guys are handsome, with that Robert Redford look.
Some guys are geniuses, know all within a book.
Some guys are athletes, strong as they can be.
Then, there are guys like me.

We ain't nothin' special.
We're made of flesh and bone.
We spend our time on this earth,
Then one day we're gone.
No one writes about us.
We're too numerous to see.
Anonymously we live our lives
These simple guys like me.

Some of us are fathers, raising up our kids.
Some are all alone when a marriage hits the skids.
Some of us are happy just to leave things as they be.
I raise a toast to the guys like me.

We ain't nothin' special.
We're made of flesh and bone.
We spend our time on this earth,
Then one day we're gone.
No one writes about us.
We're too numerous to see.
Anonymously we live our lives
These simple guys like me.
