Oneness? No, Nothingness
A minnow in its pond believes it understandsThe universe, as does the eagle riding updrafts
Over cultivated land. A woman on her way
To work, backed up in traffic, never doubts
The doctrines which were given her in childhood,
Or any of the data that her senses seem to bring
Her brain. She assumes, as you do, that the paradigm
Is proven, and it's useful. There's no doubt
Of that, but, should you fly up with me several
Light years into outer space or shrink to float
Within the realm of subatomic particles,
The universe would lose all meaning. Everything
You think you know would turn out to be wrong.
The paradigm would be revealed to be
A sort of dream.
