A rewrite of a work already up on poetbay.
Now coalmines and the coal miners
Had a reputation for reducing artists
Artists of every ue - all kinds of arts
Now ' Chick ' Morris - his were comedy
Who just never stuck for rattling off jokes
Talking in good humor ways - that chased away out negative
Turning a situation in to one of The Comedic
Telling funny story's the bus it were rocking
Laughter from every seat on the pit bus
I and I dowt I were the only one
Knowing ' Chick '' were going on the bus kind of woke up to the alarm clock with a smile
Though the time very early in the morning at three AM
Knowing ' Chick ' would be on the pit bus
I'd board the pit bus at about five ten AM
Start in would see me before I had found seat
' Chick ' had cracked a joke at my expense
I smiled responded with - '' good Morning '' Chick ' - you bastard! ''
' and a good morning to you! '
A usual response - said with a grin
' Chick ' grind - then proceeded with his humor
And just never stopped - us lads would not have our ' Chick ' no other way!
'' Chick '' could have should of been on the comedy circuit - on TV - radio
Oh how miss our dear ' Chick '

NOW 'CHICK' MORRIS (OF FOND MEOMORY FROM MY YEARS IN THE KENT MINES)
