dark mind

i wandered through
a barren land
of fruitless words
and vanished
dreams floating
away as mist on
a darkened river
where tears
blew away as
sand on
a sorrowful shore
hollow tunnels echoing
creating
trembling waves of
sound subsiding to silence
turning thoughts to
melting
ice

I like the cadence of this poem, the careful rhythm, careful but flexible.

jim The PoetBay support member heart!
We all may wander through a glass, darkly; but only you come out

"turning thoughts to
melting
ice"

Stunning.
